Accessibility statement
Last updated · September 26, 2026
Mind the selvedge: the edges are where things unravel. Accessibility is one of the edges we design for first.
Our commitment
We aim for this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and to be usable by keyboard, screen reader, voice control and magnification, on any screen size.
What we’ve done
- Semantic HTML, a logical heading order, landmarks and a “skip to content” link.
- Every interactive element works with a keyboard and shows a clear focus indicator.
- Text and interface colors meet at least 4.5:1 contrast in both light and dark themes.
- Forms have visible labels, clear error messages announced to assistive technology, and work without JavaScript.
- Content reflows down to 280px wide and up to 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
- Anything revealed on hover is also available on focus and on touch.
- Windows High Contrast / forced-colors mode is respected; decorative canvases are hidden in it.
- Hindi and Gujarati words are marked with the correct language for screen readers.
Motion & animation
The site’s signature loom and thread animations are decorative. They pause when off-screen and are replaced by still images if your device asks for reduced motion, or if you’ve turned on data saving. No information is conveyed only through motion, and nothing flashes.
Known limitations
- The Cloudflare Turnstile human check is provided by a third party. It is designed to be accessible and usually needs no interaction; if it ever blocks you, email us instead.
- Generated woven swatches are decorative images and are described in text where they carry meaning.
How we test
Every change is checked automatically with axe-core in our test suite, across phone, tablet and desktop sizes, with JavaScript disabled and with reduced motion on. Before major releases we also walk key journeys by keyboard alone and with a screen reader.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site doesn’t work for you, we want to know. Email hello@tanaloom.com with the page and what happened. We aim to reply within two business days and to fix the issue (or give you the information another way) as quickly as we can.
